ISLAMABAD, Apr 18 (APP):Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi on Thursday said the incumbent government would ensure stability of prices of essential items and those involved in hoarding and profiteering would not be spared.
He was addressing the officials of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) and Municipal Administration and office- bearers of vegetable and fruit market associations.
The minister directed the officials to ensure availability of essential items at cheaper rates during the holy month of Ramzan and conduct surprise raids at Ramzan Bazars, Susta Bazars and other markets.
He said profiteering and hoarding would not be allowed as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan and those involved in such activities would have to face action as per law.
Shehryar Afridi said the holy month of Ramzan was about to begin and those involved in artificial price hike would be punished.
